Ravenwood O&C was founded in 2021 at the intersection of nature, science, creativity, and the beautifully unusual.
What began as Ravenwood Oddities & Curiosities has evolved into a modern apothecary encompassing skincare, body care, candles, fragrance, and an enduring appreciation for unusual objects. Though Ravenwood has grown, the original spirit remains: creating distinctive, thoughtfully made things that bring together beauty, atmosphere, and curiosity.
BOTANICALS + SCIENCE
Skincare became a natural extension of Ravenwood through a fascination with cosmetic chemistry, formulation, botanical ingredients, and the science behind modern skincare.
Each formula is developed with intention, pairing purposeful modern actives with restorative botanicals and thoughtfully selected ingredients. Every element is considered as part of the complete formula—from ingredient compatibility and performance to texture, stability, and the way the finished product feels on the skin.
A Ravenwood formula begins with the ingredients, but what surrounds the formula matters too. Texture, finish, fragrance when appropriate, packaging, and presentation are considered together to create a cohesive experience from first impression to final use.
From the formula inside the bottle to the vessel, label, and final details, each product reflects the same attention to craft, function, and design.
Ravenwood began with an appreciation for the unusual—objects shaped by nature, history, and the beauty found in things often overlooked. That part of Ravenwood has never disappeared.
The Curiosity Cabinet carries those origins forward through an evolving collection of natural history pieces, preserved specimens, found objects, and other beautifully unusual curiosities. Each piece is selected or created with the same eye for detail and atmosphere that shapes the rest of Ravenwood.
Skincare, candles, and curiosities may seem like unlikely companions, but they share the same foundation: a fascination with nature, craftsmanship, science, and objects that invite a closer look.
My connection to making things began long before Ravenwood. I grew up in Metro Detroit watching my grandmother make a living creating handmade goods and selling them at local craft shows and the Michigan Renaissance Festival. Making things by hand was simply part of the world I grew up in, and that influence has stayed with me throughout my life.
My own creative path eventually led me to skincare. Years of dealing with persistently dry skin, eczema, and keratosis pilaris made me curious about not only what I was putting on my skin, but why it worked. That curiosity grew into a fascination with cosmetic chemistry and formulation—and ultimately became part of Ravenwood.
My background in design has shaped Ravenwood from the beginning, from its visual identity and packaging to the presentation of each finished piece. Outside of Ravenwood, I also work as a professional motorsports photographer—another creative pursuit that has taught me to obsess over details, composition, and the way something is experienced visually.
